2009 Fantasy Football - Week 4 Trade Tips and Advice

Low Buys

Steve Smith – had 2 dud games of 21 yards and 38 yards. He is second in the NFL with 37 targets, time to low ball and make out like a bandit.
Matt Forte – Yet to score or rush over 70 yards this season.
Clinton Portis – Has been quite unimpressive this season. :/
Roddy White has been so-so so I don't care to have him on my roster anymore.

Sell High
Fred Jackson – While the coach said he hopes to spilt carries 50-50 it is all speculation until it actually happens. It is hard to part ways with a player who has been so hot this season but keep in mind he has yet to rush for a touchdown. Consider trading him for some one like Forte or Turner will are guaranteed to get the carries and get a little extra in the trade.
Maurice Jones Drew - had a career day so if someone wants to send you a stacked trade do it.
Willis McGahee - 2 touchdowns in each of the last 3 games.

Bargain Basement Price - Willie Parker- Last Chance

He struggled against a fierce Titan Defense in week 1. In week 2 he struggled again against a reasonable Bears run defense.

He has pretty much no value at the moment. Now is the time to trade a drop candidate or pretty much anyone for Parker who will be facing the Bengals, Browns and Lions in the 3 of the next four games. A very low buy who may prove to hold value this season. Act now, you really have nothing to lose.

Buy Sell Week 3

Buy

Tom Brady nothing stellar in week 2. After coming off a 216 game one interception and no TDs, Brady’s value will never be lower. He has a stellar schedule week 14-17.

Leon Washington – He hasn’t done too much but he had recorded 29 carries for 118 yards. A nice low buy, he should become more involved in the Jets passing game as the season continues.

Brandon Jacobs

Matt Forte

Steve Slaton - buy very low

Sell

David Garrard coming off a good week 2 there won’t be many other performances like that this season.

Derrick Ward – With the lack of a defense in Tampa, they have been forced to stray from their running game and pass their ass off.

Sell High Buy Low NFL

Sell High

Jeremy Shockey – Yes is will be fantasy worthy this season, but consider this he only had 31 receiving yards against Detroit. So had he not catch 2 TDs it would not have been a note worthy performance. If you have a better Tight end option deal out Shockley while he is hot.

Patrick Crayton - he put up number 1 starting receiver numbers in week 1 mostly in part to his 80-yard touchdown catch. Still, he is a bye week option at best. See what you can get for him. Try dealing for DeShaun Jackson or T.J. Houshmandzadeh guys who should be weekly performers.

Julius Jones - he was the benefactor of a porous St. Louis defense. Yeah, he will probably be a good flex depending on matchups this season but if you can get a Steve Slaton or Steven Jackson for him it is a no brainer do it!

Cedric Benson was not too stellar against a weak Denver defense. He has what should be 8 tough match-ups his next 9 games. Sell, sell, sell!

Buy Low
It is a little early for this but the early bird gets the worm right?

Jay Cutler he will bounce back just not until week 3. If you need a quarterback you should be able to get him for a reasonable price.

Jamal Lewis rushed for 57 yards against a stout Viking run defense with only 11 carries. He has a pretty good schedule this season. If the Browns don’t let the game get away from them early, they will find comfort in handing Lewis the ball.

Leon Washington had 15 carries last week that is more than DeAngelo Williams, Brian Westbrook and LaDainian Tomlinson. Still a flex at best a nice guy to have when he is being utilized so much.

Photo credit Brian Dowling Jonathan Stewart had 11 carries to Williams 14.He was also given three straight carries in the red-zone but failed to score.

Steve Slaton had a horrible week 1 and week two doesn’t look like it is going to be any better.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Hold
John Carlson is no fluke he should continue to be a reliable tight-end all season.
