Trade Update

Photo

I was finally successful at claiming Maurice Jones Drew. I traded Tim Hightower, Steve Slaton, and DeSean Jackson for MDJ and Steve Smith (Car). Cha-ching!

This is why you attempt trades. I traded 3 players I don't feel hold value for 2 studs. The reason I believe the trade went through is he needed 2 RBs and is desperate for a win being 1-4. Also my players have out preformed his this season thus far. That is how you sell high buy low folks!

BTW this is my team that is 1-4 so I knew i needed to act fast to turn this team around.

My Fantasy Update Week 5

I don't even want to talk about it but I will. I went 7-5 (In ESPN leagues). I just realized after 4 weeks I have 12 teams not 11 WOW!

I am irrated I am not dominating the way I did last year so this week expect a lot of information here.I will be doing a lot of research this season is quite an intriguing one.

Had some tough losses (I hate scoring big and losing) but at least most my teams are set moving forward. There is one team however that is an absolute mess and looks like it will continue to stay that way. Sadly, it has one win on the season and a week 5 blow-out :/.

I am ranked everywhere from 1st to 10th in my leagues. Next week will be a good indicator to see where my teams are at.
I have a team that leads the league in points (not even close) and has fewest points against but TWO losses. So while those two losses hurt I am confident moving forward.

I turned this team around after starting off 0-3 winning the last two. I have found I typically take my losses the first few weeks of the season then streak wins to end.

Here is the starting roster of my 14 team ESPN League

I started off 0-2 to win the last 3. It is painful to know I was 3 points from being 3-1 at this point.
The entire starting line-up with drafted with the exception of the Hasselbeck (Dropped due to injury ha silly girl) and the Broncos defense.

So right now I am not liking my records but I am doing fairly well in standing and am confident in most of my rosters.

How did your week 5 go?

My Trades Update

photo

Before Week 4
I traded Glen Coffee (to a Gore owner) for Thomas Jones.I felt this was a great offer for me to accept because Jones is more valuable in the long run whereas Coffee is a short term fix to my running back problems. My Team is suffering I have named it the Dead Rivers(in honor of my QB Philip Rivers). The worst team Iown right now winning my first game last week. Why does my team suck? I went Running back (Turner),Wide receiver (Jennings), Wide Receiver (White) so I have no running game and but now I have the receivers A.Boldin (YES! No lie, dropped by the guy that sent me this trade) and Steve Smith I acquired through waivers. My teams I drafted back happy and hold 3 receivers are thriving! So don't buy into that take a WR high nonsense. Your team SUCKS? Work the waivers! It will pay off.

I traded Thomas Jones for Steven Jackson - While Action Jackson had yet to score is is top five in carries and yards.

Before Week 5
After a failed attempt to get Maurice Jones Drew, I was offered Dallas Clark and Steve Smith (CAR) for Eagles Defense and Cadillac Williams. Which I accepted because I felt it was steal, something for nothing. Clark upgrades me at the tight-end position (over Carlson) and Steve Smith will allow me to deal away DeShaun Jackson (or another receiver) with no worry.

Btw I will have guys you NEED to trade for up soon!

My Fantasy Update

I finally got my first win in my 14 team league (that I MUST WIN) after a crushing 2 point loss in week 2.

Overall I think I went 7-4. A much needed improvement after the 1-10 fiasco that was week 2.
My losses in week 3 were not only within 5 points like last week but I was putting up scores in the high 90s on ESPN and lost. Anyone who plays ESPN know that if you put up 90 points most the time you are the team that wins. Not this week, thanks to MDJ, Pierre Thomas, and any other JERK that went berserk against me in week.

As far as NFL picks are concerned I went 12-4 putting me at 33-15 on the season.

Week 1 -12-4
Week 2 - 9-7
Week 3 - 12-4

I will have my picks up tomorrow and go over last weeks picks.

There is a ESPN group where some of us are picking games each week. I finished 3rd because I picked the Panthers over Dallas.
If anyone is interested in joining I will have the link with my picks for this week.

My Trades Thus Far

Week 1 before any games were played I traded Derrick Ward for Reggie Bush.I honestly believe if Bush gets 10 carries or more every week he will be a fantasy monster. He was a top 5 back last year before his injury.
This looked like a poor trade after week 1 but after week 2 let's compare their stats.

21 Carries> 17 Carries - Advantage Derrick Ward
94 Rushing Yards> 47 Rushing Yards - Advantage Derrick Ward
Rushing 1 TD= 1 Rushing TD- Tie
Receptions 3 < Receptions 8- Advantage Reggie Bush
Receiving Yards 26 < Receiving Yards 97 - Advantage Reggie Bush
Fantasy Points 17 =Fantasy Points 17 -Tie
Winner -Tie
I feel Bush has the edge though

Week 3 I traded Cadillac Williams for Brandon Jacobs. I find no real value in Williams and sought to pick up a stud at a low buy.

20 Carries (One less than Derrick Ward) < 32 Carries - Advantage Jacobs
106 Rushing Yards> 104 Rushing Yards - Advantage Williams
Rushing 1 TD= 0 Rushing TD - Advantage Williams
Receptions 7 < Receptions 2- Advantage Williams
Receiving Yards 56 < Receiving Yards 17 - Advantage Williams
Receiving TDs 1 > Receiving TDs 0 - Advantage Williams
Fantasy Points 10 < Fantasy Points 26 - Advantage Williams
Winner -ME haha

Based on the first 2 weeks Williams is the better running back. Take away his two scores and there is not much of a difference.
Jacobs scored 15 times last season I see no reason why he can't put up at least 10 this season. Also, Jacobs rushed over 40 yards in the first two weeks, while Williams rushed 97 week one and only 9 in week 2 against the Bills. Tampa has the second most pass attempts behind the Patriots because of their lack of defense so they are not the run team everyone anticipated. I see a lot of mediocre performances in Williams future. What do you guys think about my trades?

Week 2 - The Week from Hell

My one win....

I went 1-10 in my fantasy teams this week after 6-6 last week. 9 of those losses were within 10 or less. I made a few bad decisions on who to start (benching Rivers cost me quite a bit of my games, and benching Clark cost me one, also one me my only win) , and was punished for drafted Forte and Slaton on the same teams. Hasselbeck getting hurt didn't help either. My biggest reason for losing were receivers. I had my receivers do well in one league with Roddy White and Steve Smith (NYG) and Deshaun Jackson on my bench. But I had Greg Jennings and Santana Moss against Colston and V.Jackson which was a 37 point favor in their direction (So far it seems like everyone is having a great day against me, their luck will change muhaha) . A lot my guys have under achieved thus far Forte cough cough. I am not happy. But if you are struggling at the beginning of the season like me don't fret! I went 3-0 last season in a league and that was the only league I missed the playoff finishing with 5 wins. I went 0-3 and won championships last year. The first few weeks well wins are important what is most important is moving the right roster moves, understanding who you can count on, and realizing what Defenses are no nos and which ones are cake walks.

I was kinda lax on the updates here last week. I thought I was set. Now I realize I got some tweeking to do not too much though. I am confident in my teams now I know where my players stand so start sit should be down pat next week.

I try to have the best team possible, as all should strive for. Last year I had a starting lineup high 90s and a bench high 90s. I had the proof, I'll post it when I get around to it.

Any ways best of luck

If your week 2 was hell like mine and your ego has been bruised remember it is a long season. The first few weeks are like getting your cast taken off your broken arm. It feels funny at first, stinks, it is awkward but eventually it is as if it was never broken. Next week will be better, learn from your mistakes.

So I am an Addict I'll Admit it

I wanted to see how I would do after the knowledge of week 1 performances. My 12th team and I told myself I would keep it to five this year....

Round 1
- (6) Child Please - Matt Forte RB

Round 2 (15) Child Please - Steven Jackson RB (I was thinking about Tom Brady because I love his fantasy playoff schedule but decided quarterback wasn't a priority. Plus I have had bad luck drafting QBs high, last year Carson Palmer)

Round 3 (26) Child Please - Kevin Smith RB - I was debating on Smith or Roddy White. Took Smith because 1 time almost ran out, 2 with presence of Tony G., White may lose TD catches and 3 I think Kevin Smith could be this years Steve Slaton.

Round 4 (35) Child Please - Dwayne Bowe WR - surprising week 1 debut with Cassel against the Ravens.

Round 5 (46) Child Please - T.J. Houshmandzadeh WR - Mr. Reliable(Anquan Boldin WR was drafted just 2 picks before me ugh!)

Round 6 (55) Child Please - Kurt Warner QB - Yes he slipped this far back! So I had to take him. I was hoping to get Hasselbeck as a backup/starter but he went much earlier than in preseason drafts.

Round 7 (66) Child Please - LenDale White RB - I had meant to draft Jonathan Stewart.

Round 8 (75) Child Please - Hines Ward WR - Jonathan Stewart was picked just before...

Round 9 (86) Child Please - Chris Cooley TE - Had a pretty nice opening day where he actually scored! Had to take Cooley when my sleeper John Carlson no longer became a sleeper after week one and was drafted absurdly in round 6.

Round 10 (95) Child Please - Jamal Lewis RB - Packers D who I wanted was just taken. He is a starting back and averaged over 5 yards a carry week 1 against the Vikings Defense.

Round 11 (106) Child Please - Jay Cutler QB - Slipped a lot from preseason drafts. Since he was the best quarterback left I took him. There wasn't much that interested me in this round.

Round 12 (115) Child Please - Julius Jones RB - Passed up on Fred Jackson for Jones simply because when week 4 comes around Jackson's value is uncertain with the return of Lynch. Julius Jones is a starter at a bargain basement price. Fantasy wise he is flex until he proves he is a legitimate threat.

Round 13 (126) Child Please - Dustin Keller TE - Wasn't really any worthy receivers left except Steve Smith. Keller went unnoticed in this draft even after posting an impressive 4 catches for 94 yards in week 1.

Round 14 (135) Child Please - Willis McGahee RB - Ravens goal line back in a time share with Ray Rice, niiice!

Round 15 (146) Child Please - Colts D/ST - Everyone must have drafted 3 Defenses! Not a bad pick up though, we will see how it folds out.

Round 16 (155) Child Please - Lawrence Tynes K - Sleep on in most leagues. The Giants produced one of the most reliable and high scoring fantasy kickers last year in the ageless  John Carney. Tynes back after an injury keep him out most of last season, should produce similar results. He went 3 for 3 in week 1.

Having never drafted after the season started I thought everyone starts out 0-0, WRONG. It takes your starting roster based on your draft and gives you week 1 score.
Luckily my team won last week haha even though they didn't exist yet. Whoo close 78-74. Nice to get a win without worrying about lineup.
How do you think I did?
